Rooted in Community

The Derry blends modern comfort with classic country-pub character, creating a relaxed setting where guests can settle in for lunch, dinner, or a catch-up over drinks.

Known locally for its family-friendly hospitality and welcoming atmosphere, the pub has become part of village life in Long Newton, serving everyday meals, celebrations, and seasonal gatherings with equal care.

What's not to love about here. Great welcoming place for food and drink and fantastic staff. Went when the sun was shining, and lots of space to sit outside and eat/drink and if you have children with you, they can run around and play in the play area, whilst you enjoy your drinks.

A good variety of food on the menu to suit all and children even have a set menu, that is better than your average childrens choices from other pub menus. Called in late afternoon and was ready to have something filling as we hadn't had much since breakfast. I'm a regular 'Scampi & chips' person and this plateful presented to me was simply delicious and more than filling.

My granddaughter had pasta to her liking and loved the fresh garlic bread.
Sticky Toffee pudding is also a favourite.
Here's to future meals here. This is definitely a favourite.

Just been to The Derry, we had Potatoe Skin starter. Mains were Parmo and Tandoori Chicken flatbread.

Food was fabulous and portion size very big. Service very fast and did great job

Quiet lunch at the Derry.
Absolutely outstanding food, as always, tried the quiche/salad/fries off the new menu, just lovely.
Only issue, brought half of it home as the portions were, as always enormous!!!
If you have never visited, please do, you will not be disappointed.
Lovely outdoor seating area, just needs the weather to behave!!!
Thanks to the whole team, great environment, lovely staff and just fabulous food!!!
